New Beginning for the Potez 60

Exhibition in Méaulte

The Airbus Atlantic factory in Méaulte is celebrating a century of innovation and excellence in 2024 with the inauguration of the “Centenary of the Méaulte Factory” exhibition. Founded by Henry Potez a hundred years ago, this industrial facility has left an indelible mark on French and international aeronautics. The “Centenary of the Méaulte Factory” exhibition takes visitors on a journey through time, highlighting the remarkable achievements and key moments that have shaped the factory throughout its history.

This exhibition, prepared and staged by the AAHM (Association Aéronautique Histoire Méaulte) and its President Jean-Pierre DEHONDT, offers a unique opportunity to discover the evolution of the Méaulte factory and understand its crucial role in the development of aviation. Visitors can explore Méaulte’s contributions to the industry, from its beginnings to its current achievements, in a brand-new building provided by AIRBUS ATLANTIC. In this space, you can discover the importance of innovation and excellence that have characterized this emblematic site, illustrated by historical, old, and modern pieces, as well as magnificent flying models of POTEZ aircraft.

A New Beginning for the Potez 60

The POTEZ 60, currently on display, will soon return to the POTEZ family heritage in Aire-sur-l’Adour, where it will be repatriated. This French training aircraft, designed in the 1930s, is a centerpiece of aeronautical heritage. The AAHM has decided to transfer this aircraft to the Potez family, marking the beginning of a new era for this venerable machine.

The objective of this transfer is to maintain the Potez 60 in flying condition, allowing aviation history enthusiasts in the region to see it soar through the skies. This project symbolizes not only the preservation of aeronautical heritage but also Potez Aéronautique’s commitment to keeping French aviation history and tradition alive for future generations.
